FAQ
Chemical peels involve applying a chemical solution to the skin, which causes the
outer layers to peel off, revealing smoother, brighter skin underneath.
They are used to treat a variety of skin concerns, including fine lines, wrinkles, sun
damage, uneven skin tone, and acne scars.
The depth of the peel (superficial, medium, or deep) depends on the chemical solution
used and the desired outcome.
Chemical peels work through a controlled process of exfoliation. The chemical solution
applied to the skin causes the targeted layers to shed, stimulating collagen production and
cell turnover. This leads to improved skin texture, reduced fine lines, and a more even skin
tone.
Before undergoing any professional peels ,preparation is key. A consultation with a skincare
expert is the first step. During this session, your skin type, existing conditions, and aesthetic
goals will be assessed. This ensures the most appropriate peel is selected
Chemical peels can be tailored to various skin types and concerns. However, a consultation
is recommend before skincare professional is essential to determine the most suitable peel
for your unique needs.
You may experience a mild tingling or stinging sensation. During the treatment.
Downtime can vary based on the depth and type of chemical peel performed. Light peels
often have minimal to no downtime, minor redness or peeling that resolves within a few
hours or days. Medium to deep peels may result in more significant peeling and redness,
necessitating up to a week or more of recovery. Your skincare specialist can provide specific
guidance based on your treatment plan.
Afterward, your skin will gradually peel, revealing the fresh skin underneath deepening on
the peel.
Following a chemical peel, it’s crucial to follow the recommended aftercare instructions. This
typically involves using gentle skincare products, avoiding sun exposure, and staying
hydrated to support the healing process.
While chemical peels are generally safe, some potential side effects include redness,
peeling, and temporary sensitivity. These effects are usually mild and subside as the skin
heals.
The frequency of chemical peels depends on the type of peel and your skin’s response.
Superficial peels can be done more often, while deeper peels may require more extended
intervals between treatments.
